Nail and hair diseases in Bologna

The first Congress on nail and hair diseases attended by top European experts in Bologna.

The Nail and Hair Disease Congress made its debut with an interesting scientific program capable of achieving the maximum number of participants in its first edition.

Alongside the scientific program, CRLabs had the honor of presenting a report on its CRL hair replacement system during the congress, and to illustrate both its main characteristics and solved cases, with particular focus on the specific pathologies that, from a medical point of view, do not yet enjoy a treatment or therapy capable of satisfying patients. This concerns total hair loss, scarring hair loss such as frontal fibrosing alopecia and lichen planopilaris, as well as permanent hair loss due to radiotherapy treatments to the scalp. In this regard, some cases involving temporary hair loss due to chemotherapy treatments were also presented. The CRL hair replacement system is particularly recommended for solving the aesthetic and functional needs of those who are going through the aforementioned difficult and complex experiences and do not want to live with hair pieces or scarves that constantly remind them of what they are facing. An important example was also the use of the CRL hair replacement system in hair loss resulting from trauma: in these cases, CRLabs is the exclusive provider for the INAIL Prosthesis Center in Vigorso di Budrio, for all entitled patients.

The event was held with the support of the Emilia-Romagna Regional Health Service, the Alma Mater Studiorum University of the Bologna Department of Diagnostic and Experimental Medicine and the Bologna Board of Physicians. The event location in Bologna was strongly recommended by Bianca Maria Piraccini, an associate professor in the Department of Diagnostic Medicine, because the “Etruscan” capital has always been one of the national and international centers of reference for the diagnosis and treatment of skin adnexa. Doctors and dermatologists interested in the study of nail and hair diseases gathered at the conference, attended by renowned experts who have dealt with the diagnosis and management of the most common afflictions in the field. The event took place over two intense days, with consecutive presentations from 24 speakers, and also offered strong practical examples, in order to provide the appropriate know-how for managing patients in every clinical setting.
