 During the Expo Sanità 2014, Cesare Ragazzi Laboratories will hold a Round Table on the topic of “Gender Politics in Health Services” on Thursday, May 22nd, at 12:00 p.m. in the Horus Room, Pavilion 19 of the Fiera di Bologna (Bologna Exhibition Center). The World Health Organization, international conferences on health and European Union directives have recently focused their efforts on a gendered perspective in providing health care and services. Gender Medicine works on the concept of “diversity between genders” to guarantee care and treatment in function of the specificities of gender that influence the status of health and illness. The following speakers will intervene: – Dr. Paola Marani, Council Member for the Emilia Romagna Region: on Title IV of the “Framework Law for equality and against gender discrimination”, dedicated to protecting health and well-being through the promotion of gender medicine and increasingly adequate and personalized social and health services. – Renato Pasquali, Director of the Endocrinology Unit of the S. Orsola-Malpighi Hospital in Bologna: by considering the biological differences and the different impact of society and the environment on the two sexes, Gender Medicine works in the fields of prevention, diagnosis and treatment, focusing on the differences between men and women and illustrating, more specifically, the areas that show differences in gender in Medicine. – Gennaro Verni, Technical Director of the INAIL Prosthetics Center in Vigorso di Budrio and Stefano Ospitali, CEO of Cesare Ragazzi Laboratories: applicable cases of Gender Medicine.
