For more than 40 years, Cesare Ragazzi Laboratories has worked on hair loss solutions designed specifically for men and women. Hair problems can have different causes and effects, need different treatments and need to be studied according to gender.

This round table was specifically dedicated to the topic of gender policies in health services, an argument that is often overlooked or not considered important, but which instead draws a line between male and female physiology, distinguishing their functionality and their particular responses to medical treatments. The need to think in a gendered perspective in the medical context also becomes fundamental for a personalized outcome. Stefano Ospitali, CEO of CRLabs, shared the speakers’ table with Gennaro Verni, technical director of the INAIL Prosthesis Center in Vigorso di Budrio, Paola Marani, member of the Emilia Romagna Regional Council, and Renato Pasquali, director of the Endocrinology Unit of the General Hospital S.Orsola-Malpighi in Bologna. Pasquali highlighted how important it is to overcome the cultural handicap that associates gender medicine with women’s medicine, and in his speech he declared: “Gender medicine is not women’s medicine, but rather the medicine of differences between different genders”. Biological differences are the principle on which the right to distinct and specific health and pharmacological care for men and for women must be based.
